D’Moleyk – The Mole Age, a graphic novel by Miha Rinne, introduces the reader into an apocalyptic fable set in helsinki. It begins in 70km below the earth under the Espoo district, jumping momentarily into parallel universe, to return again into the streets of Helsinki and the tunnels underneath it, ending eventually in Finland – but thousands of years into the future.
Graphic novel is mostly silent, with no text, and it includes all the episodes published in Tähtivaeltaja magazine during 2013-2016, but as recolored and fixed edition. Also included is the interview of the author from year 2013, and bonus materials, with illustrate the 20 year process of making this book.
Miha Rinne is a comic book artist, animator and long-time game developer residing in Tampere. His previous graphic novel ”Journeys into game industry” was adapted into mini tv-series by Yle. His earlier published albums; ”The Far End Chronicles” were based on his game concept called ”Furry Dragons”, which was selected as “One of the 100 most significant game projects in Finland” on the courtesy of the Finnish Game Museum, which resides in Tampere.
Creating D’Moleyk has been a lifetime goal for Miha Rinne, and it was originally conceived in 1995 – eventually culminating into this book, that collects all the episodes of the graphic novel.
